Having gear that you're comfortable with is very important. I'd say the things I choose to take with me determine what experiences I am capable of having at the destination. The wrong gear could be dangerous or costly. Below is what I use on my travels and I have got to this point after about 14 years of trial and error. The three things I look out for when buying travel gear is weight, quality, and features. That is to say I like high quality, lightweight items that can do many things or are versatile enough to be used in different scenarios.
Of course, there are probably loads of things you guys use that I have missed! Please drop me a line and let me know how I can further streamline or improve my kit.
